Britney Spears – Hold It Against Me

1. Hold It Against Me
2. Hold It Against Me (Instrumental)

Hold It Against Me is the 34th single by American singer Britney Spears, and the first single for her seventh studio album  ‘Femme Fatale’, to be released on March 25, 2011. This single was released on January 11, 2011 to positive reviews, topping the charts in Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, New Zealand and South Korea.

Hold It Against Me was a huge surprise for me, it is so different than what I’m used to. Circus, Britney’s previous album, was a decent album but her vocals were still like they were back in 1998. Now it sounds like she matured a lot vocally, or maybe her vocals are a lot less altered. She gives a very pleasant performance, except for some parts that were overloaded with moanings, but in general she sounds great!
The music is a good pop/dance song with some trance and grime influences and a nice dubstep dance break in the bridge. The song features hard beats and lovely synth riffs that contrast that beat with Britney’s voice, the result is awesome.

I loved the music video for this song, it’s very creative and innovative, and it’s also very colorful. Nice to see that the monitors display her previous videos.

Overall, I can’t wait to hear Femme Fatale, this single made me so curious about Britney’s sound. Can it really be she sounds a bit different than usual? Maybe this is her real comeback, and not Circus. I hope she has something good in store for us this month!
